Cargo Handler

Your responsibilities will include meticulous handling of various types of cargo, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with team members to optimise the overall logistics process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles and cargo to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Accurately document and record information related to cargo using company iPhone based software.
- Safely load and unload a variety of vehicles and cargo into and out of containers.
- Utilise appropriate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and protocols during all cargo handling activities.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or issues promptly to ensure a secure working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, including drivers, cargo handling staff, and supervisors, to ensure smooth coordination of loading and unloading operations.
- Communicate effectively to coordinate the efficient movement of cargo and troubleshoot any challenges that may arise.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in cargo handling, possibly with a focus on loading and unloading operations.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, as well as using tools and equipment safely. Woodworking skills would be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to accurately document and track cargo. IT skills are essential.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to cargo handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
**Salary**: From £26,000.00 per year
