**Workshop Assistant**

We are a Manufacturing Engineering company based in Somerton, Somerset, we have been in business since 1948 and our products are used all over the world.

This is a full time, permanent position with an initial 6-month probationary period.

Engineering experience is an advantage for this role, but by no means essential, as is knowledge of safe working practices. We will consider supporting formal training and qualifications for the right person.

It is our general policy, where appropriate, to offer every employee the chance of further formal training to improve their skillset, qualifications and opportunities.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

The below list is an outline only, it may change according to the day-to-day support requirements of the Company:
**The role**:

- Receiving, booking in and unpacking of deliveries.
- Packing, booking out and despatch of goods.
- Workshop maintenance and general housekeeping.

**You will**:

- Be literate, ideally with an operable knowledge of MS Office.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
- Be willing to learn.
- Be flexible with how you fill your working day.
- Enjoy being part of a productive team.
- Be considerate of safety including the safety of others.
- Possess a friendly and sociable attitude.

Experience in the use of machine (milling, lathe, grinding etc) and hand tools would be of benefit, although, full training will be given as appropriate.

We will provide relevant training, and we will consider supporting further formal training and qualifications for the right person in the future.

You will be expected to undertake any relevant training course funded by or provided by the company to extend and/or improve skill levels, performance and awareness of current requirements.
- Opportunity for formal training from in-house through to NVQs and upwards.
- Opportunity to travel nationally and internationally for service visits/new installations once appropriate skillsets are gained.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £19,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
