**Residential care should be a positive experience**

Our home caters for children who are experiencing developmental difficulties, emotional behaviours, moderate to low learning difficulties and attachment disorder.

**The hours**:

- 1 day on, two days off
- 10/11 shifts per month with 8 sleeps and one bank shift
- Overtime paid from 170 hours per month
- On call paid at £35.00 per night

- To provide a safe environment where young people can examine their experiences and develop their life skills
- To help young people regain control of their lives and develop effective coping mechanisms
- To help young people prepare for their return home to their family (where appropriate)

Placement with another family
Moving into independent living
- Encourage young people into education, training and life skills
- Support young people with their emotional behaviour

**Day to day responsibilities**:

- Care and support young people with challenging behaviour, trauma, attachment issues, mental health, ADHD, Autism and various other barriers
- Foster positive relationships, encouraging strong bonds between you and the children and young people
- Value and nurture each child as an individual with talents, strengths and capabilities
- You will advocate for the rights of our children and young people to influence positive change in their circumstances
- Share domestic and non domestic routines and establish boundaries of acceptable behaviour
- You will help with their learning and development, help them with such matters as budgeting, education and training, employment and staying safe
- Supporting emotional, mental and physical health needs including building self-esteem and helping to rebuild and repair earlier damage
- You will work with the wider system of professionals and children's families and the community
- **SENIORS **may deputise in the absence of Team Leaders/Deputy's
- Create play and activities
- Attend meetings and reviews
- To lead your team of support workers
- Write detailed and concise reports

**To be considered for this role,** you must have experience at senior/qualified level. We are looking for highly-committed individuals who can help transform the lives of our children and young people and prepare them for life after residential care.
