As a Buyer within SDA you’ll need to thrive on a challenge and have a real desire to grow this dynamic category
Taking full ownership of the category across Floorcare, Heating & Cooling, Garden & DIY, you’ll play a key part in the next phase of AO’s growth as we target market share gains and enhancement of our proposition. You’ll get to work with some of the world’sleading brands such as Dyson, Shark & Electrolux just to name a few
An exciting opportunity for someone to set the strategy for your category, take real ownership of the go-to market proposition and help fulfill our ambitions to become a Global Electrical retailer
**Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing As a**Category Buyer - Floorcare & Seasonal**:
- Maximising sales & profit margin for defined categories
- Managing & negotiating terms of a contract with suppliers through building exceptional relationships along the way
- Negotiating product support in a fluctuating market
- Optimising products so they’re the best they can be
- Analysing & reporting of sales figures
- Sourcing and implementing ranges from branded key suppliers & finding new opportunities
- Managing and delivering a successful and demanding promotional strategy
- Tracking and reacting to competitor activity, whilst monitoring market fluctuations and trends making sure we’re always ahead of the curve
- Working cross-departmentally to deliver category KPI’s especially with Marketing & Supply Chain teams
- Managing and developing an Assistant Buyer
**A Few Things About OurCategory Buyer - Floorcare & Seasonal**:
- Previous experience of buying within retail and/or e-commerce
- Previous experience of working in Electricals would be a huge advantage
- The ability to have an analytical understanding of numbers
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to an exceptional standard
- Self-motivated, passionate and driven
- The ability to negotiate with excellent relationships building skills
