**Salary**: £44,615 to £49,573 (pay award pending)
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Location: Hybrid working / Didsbury, Manchester
Southway Housing Trust is a community based housing organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that we work in. Southway Housing Trust is a "not-for-profit" landlord, based in Didsbury, managing and improvingapproximately
6,000 homes in South Manchester and is half way through a programme of creating 1,600 new homes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Finance Team for a professional senior accountant.

We are looking for a qualified CCAB accountant. You will have at least five years' experience
in general finance operation, can supervise the work of colleagues, have advanced accounts
and general ledger skills, and able to prepare budgets, management accounts, consolidated
statutory accounts and VAT returns. Experience of the housing sector would be desirable.
Your main responsibilities would include:
1. Lead the operation and development of the core accounting systems ensuring accurate and timely accounting and budgetary information for Southway Housing Trust and Southway Plus (the Group's commercial subsidiary company).
2. Reporting requirements arising from the above, providing management accounts and revenue budget forecasts to the Executive and drafting quarterly reports to Funders.
3. Ensuring the Management Accountants reporting to the post holder liaise productively with budget holders to analyse results and consider actions to deliver effective budgetary control.
4.The post will prepare the draft annual budget and manage the budget setting processes for the Group (including the recharge framework within the Trust and between group companies).
5. Oversee preparation of Trust, subsidiary and consolidated Group accounts in the statutory format, managing the external audit process, and the publication version of the year end accounts for submission to Funders and the Regulator.
6. Oversee preparation of quarterly VAT returns for Group companies and submission of corporation tax returns to HMRC with assistance of taxation advisors.
