1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full-time, junior level Sports Apparel Designer to join our creative and production team based in Basingstoke. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, bright, and enthusiastic designer with experience in either Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

We are a small but fast-growing team, designing and delivering personalised sportswear from concept to creation all under one roof and need someone to help create and deliver this.

2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce high quality and accurate artwork for customer approvals.
- Prepare, sample and upload new club logo’s and sponsors onto team stores working alongside the appropriate production team and sales team.
- Create compelling and effective logos, designs, and artwork ready for print or web use
- Contribute constructively and effectively to the day-to-day running of the in-house manufacturing, helping to facilitate designs onto fabric and bringing your concept to reality.
- Create a positive and collaborative relationship with all departments, ensuring all members of the internal team are regularly updated on the status of ongoing orders and projects, to enable better delivery against the customer’s needs.
- Liaise with the artwork team to establish the best and most effective way to set up the artwork files required. Liaise with Operations Manager / Key Account Manager when seeking approval for artwork and designs with clients and manufacturers.
- Understand Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw (preferred) to enable you to review current artworks to understand colour and technical restraints and finally to have the ability to package up final artwork files for release.
- Create and upload new designs onto our online kitbuilder portal (training provided)
- Correctly loading media onto our range of têxtile and sublimation machines (training provided)
- Pre-emptive weekly cleaning routines of all printers (training provided)
- To assist in other areas of the Serious Sport company. This could include designing brochures, promotional material as well as electronic visual presentations.

3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- We’re looking for experience and interest in the following:

- Product Design (Sportswear and Textiles Clothing)
- Corel Draw and Illustrator (Essential)
- Photography / Photo Editing
- Focus on getting things done
- Organised and systematic
- Knowledge of sublimation printers would be an advantage however full training will be given.
- Someone who likes to make a difference and can be a team player
- Personal qualities which are vital - reliable, flexible, approachable, friendly, trustworthy and enthusiastic.
- Be able to use computer or IT equipment proficiently

4. NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB

Any bank holidays that are worked will be added back as annual leave.

In the event of absence due to ill health, you will be entitled to statutory sick pay. Statutory sick pay is not paid in the first three days in any period of sickness.

5.RENUMERATION

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,674.00 to £24,000.00 per year dependent on experience

Optional overtime will also be available at certain times of the year, where an hourly fee of £12 per hour will be paid (once fully trained). It is currently estimated that 500 hours of overtime is available annually.
