Health & Safety Business Partner

We are looking for a Health & Safety Business Partner to work at Affinity Water's biggest Water Treatment Plant in Iver, supporting our Assurance directorate by partnering with them to promote sustainable health and safety process in ensuring health, safety and wellbeing team objectives are delivered to help Affinity Water achieve our ambition of Zero Harm.
**The role**:
- Business partner in all matters Health and Safety with the Directorate.
- Provide advisory support to the wellbeing strategy/programme.
- Responding to significant Health & Safety incidents and assist in undertaking detailed investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Analysing and reporting key stakeholder’s health and safety performance and providing feedback.
- Provide health and safety coaching to key stakeholders.
- Help identify and assess business Health & Safety risks to assist maintain compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice.
- Support Health & Safety change initiatives, influencing others and driving improvement.
- Support the development and delivery of specified health, safety and wellbeing policies, procedures and improvement activities.
- Plan and deliver health and safety training and awareness programmes, materials
- Conduct 2nd Line of Defence and auditing of the company’s sites.
- Respond to requests for advice from colleagues and external agencies.
- Support those who need risk assessments relating to Health & Safety as required.
- Proactively work with operational teams to ensure that Health & Safety is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified.
- As required brief a monthly activity report for the directorate.
- Liaise with authorities and external agencies as necessary.
- Keeping the directorate up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry.
- Raise awareness on SHEQ and sustainability issues through toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training where necessary.
**Experience required**:
- NEBOSH or equivalent (desirable)
- Technical member of the Institute of Safety and Health (desirable)
- Experience in providing support within utilities (desirable)
- Experience of risk management, site inspections and audits
- Knowledge of effective SHEQ management strategies and best practice
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships
- Ability to influence and challenge
- Good technical and engineering understanding
- Ability to build networks and work within departments
- Ability to work independently using own initiative
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organise own workload
