**About the Role**

Sense Scotland Learning Hub is a new post school education based within the Kinning Park area of Glasgow. This specialist cutting edge service within a friendly and supportive environment is aimed at Young People aged 18-21 who have left or are leaving school with Complex Additional Support Needs. The Hub has been developed around the core idea of enabling young people to continue to learn and engage in their learning journey.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Young People by helping them identify and achieve their education goals. As part of this role, you will have the chance to set targets, develop learning plans and collaborate with Curriculum Delivery Lead to ensure successful inclusion across the curriculum.

Reporting to the Learner Support Lead you will be you will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of staff to support and meet individuals needs and expectations. You will support Learners directly with all aspects of their daily care needs as laid out in their Support Plans, but also support them in engaging with learning Opportunities as part of their Individual learning plan.

We are looking for individuals who are sensitive to people’s needs and proactive in supporting people to lead active lives. You will have a good understanding of the need to support people to stay healthy and safe, while being comfortable at managing risk accordingly.

To be successful in the role of Learning Support Practitioner, you will need:

- To understand how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
- Provide quality experiences for all learners in our care, which are fun, stimulating and creative where they can develop and learn
- To have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour
- You have a great work ethic and can work using your own initiative
- You are enthusiastic about helping people we support achieve their goals in life
- You have excellent communication skills
- You are professional and can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner
- You will hold an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care/and or equivalent of 2 years’ experience of working in a care/education setting
