GMP is committed to improving how it communicates and engages and we have recently restructured the team to include new roles in staff engagement and a refocused priority on improving public trust and confidence. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and creative Corporate Communications profession to lead and develop our Corporate Communications and Engagement Branch.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Media, Engagement and Corporate Affairs, the Head of Corporate Communications will provide leadership of the Corporate Communications and Engagement department in the UK’s second largest Police Force.

Leading a team of dedicated communications specialists, whilst using your expertise in strategic corporate communications, you will plan, manage, deliver, evaluate and continually develop the Force's communication strategy including reactive and proactive media delivery through owned and non-owned channels. You will ensure high quality delivery, content and impact to support community relations and contribute to building and sustaining public confidence. You will be calm and confident in a crisis and you will use your skills as a professional communicator to ensure effective internal communications to inform, connect and empower our workforce and to influence positive change.
