After School Club Lead

Working as an After School Club Lead, you will be dedicated to providing the very best childcare for children in one of our After School settings. We offer a rewarding position where you can utilise your leadership skills and knowledge, to grow and develop our Active Care services and its team.
**The Company**
First Step Sports Group is a leading physical activity & training provider, working with schools, local authorities, community groups, businesses, and individuals across the North of England.
Based in Yorkshire, with an expanding network of experienced team members located across the region, the business is comprised of 5 divisions, each specialising in a different area of physical activity development and delivery: First Step Physical Education, First Step Training, First Step Cycle, Ballers, and Kids Takeover.
**The Position**
We are seeking for an organised and enthusiastic After School Club Lead who can provide a range of play-based and sports activities for children in our Childcare After-school provision.
This role requires an individual who is confident, knowledgeable, and versatile with the ability to engage young people and you will ideally have experience of working with Primary School children aged 4-11 years.
You will be friendly and approachable and will be able to work creatively to develop a stimulating and exciting environment.

- £12.50 - £15 per hour DOE
- 17.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 2:45pm - 6:15pm (flexible hours during school holidays)
**Responsibilities**:
- Be responsible for Managing the day to day running of the provision
- Managing and monitoring the team’s performance
- Providing an excellent Customer experience and Customer liaison
- The safeguarding of all children
- Building links with parents, carers and professionals to promote the wellbeing of all children
- Act as 1st point of contact for queries/complaints
- Promoting the provision within the provision location
- Providing a light tea for the Active Care participants
- Assisting with holiday camps during the school holidays
**Knowledge and Experience Requirements**
- Experience in a management role in a similar environment (wraparound care/holiday clubs)
- Experience in EYFS (planning & leading activities & experience managing an Out of School Club or Sport Club)
- Holds a Level 2 coaching badge (Desirable)
- Knowledge and passion for a variety of sports (Desirable)
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Level 2/3 childcare or Play-work qualification (Desirable)
- Level 2 Food Hygene (Training can be provided)
- Be available five days a week (Mon-Fri)
- Paediatric first aid (Training can be provided)
- Knowledge of After-school club Ofsted requirements (Desirable)
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements for after school clubs, and an awareness of health and safety, and practical hygiene issues.
