**Salary**: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) PLUS £5000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified teacher with SEN Experience*

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **SENCO** to join a specialist SEN school based in Effingham, Surrey,

The school is an innovative new provider for 11-16 year old pupils with Special Educational Needs and have taken a mixed academic approach to create an environment where young people can achieve their own goals and thrive - be that with GCSEs or a vocational route.

As SENCO your role will be to establish and promote an inclusive approach to SEN across the whole school. Managing the Annual Review Process with the assistance of an administration assistant and be a key liaison with Local Authority EHCP Coordinators and all professionals in the field.

**Qualifications**:

- SENCO qualifications preferred
- GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN and SEND Code of Practice
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
- Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting

**Skills**:

- Commitment to the role, the desire to put children first and treat them as individuals
- Be positive and creative in meeting pupils’ needs
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own car desirable
