**Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)**

Workshop Assistant: You will be assisting the team with the smooth running of the business both in and around the buildings and within the yard, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and visitor to the building site.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Workshop**:

- Perform tasks as advised by the Facilities manager. Including practical workshop and administrative tasks
- Test and maintain workshop equipment and maintain all workshop areas in good working order.
- Distribute and arrange the storage of materials and equipment for workshops and assist in pricing, ordering and stock control.
- Carry out all duties with awareness of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Maintain, distribute and arrange the storage and repair of all materials components and specialist equipment in workshops.
- Maintaining an inventory of the goods and raw materials in the factory or warehouse
- Assist in the design, construction and maintenance of workshop demonstrations
- Take responsibility for the security of workshops, tools, equipment and any materials used within the workshop areas
- Keep the workshops clean and tidy in compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- To propose any ideas which may help to promote and extend the Group's reputation and efficient running of the Group
- To work safely, consider the safety of others and work within the guidelines stated in the Group Health and Safety Policy
- Undertake other duties as may be required by the Group Leadership Team or their representatives, in order to ensure the efficient functioning of the Group
- Ensure production staff have project materials as required.
- Putting parts / equipment away

**Driving**:

- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks, or specialized vehicles, depending on the job requirements.
- Transport passengers, goods, or materials to specified destinations following a planned route or as directed by a supervisor.
- Load and unload goods or materials, ensuring proper handling.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil, fuel, and water levels, and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, and follow company policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with passengers or clients.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, hours worked, and vehicle maintenance.
- Report accidents, incidents, or violations to the supervisor or manager.
- Assist with vehicle inspections and safety checks as required.

As a list of general duties, the above is not exhaustive. The work of the Group as a whole is expected to develop and the holder of the post will be required to work flexibly with colleagues to facilitate this development.

**Key Skills / Experience Required**

**Educational Qualification**
- GCSE’s including Math’s and English or equivalent.

**Additional Qualifications / certifications**
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- A full driving licence

**Prior experience**
- An understanding and prior experience of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Proven experience as a driver
- Experience in DIY and general maintenance skills
- An ability to promptly deal with routine tasks
- Experience working in a workshop or similar environment with various machinery.

- Outstanding communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player
- A willingness to learn
- Flexibility in work
- Having a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach when loading/unloading (if applicable)

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
