**Brewery Operative**

Double-Barrelled are recruiting for a Brewery Operative to help with the production of and distribution of our award-winning beers.

Our brewery operative would incorporate a diverse range of operational activities and would include anything from assisting on the packaging line, cellar checks, brewing, building pallets, assisting with events, making sales calls and delivering beers to our lovely customers.

We are a small team but one with ambitions to become one of the UKs leading, independent craft breweries, known for quality and consistency.

The beers we create are varied, modern, experimental, and interesting - anything from our rhubarb and custard gose, using vanilla pods & freshly stewed rhubarb, to hazy double IPAs and barrel aged stouts.

We take huge amount of pride in the standard of our beers, and ensuring that our customers retain the trust that any style of beer that we put out, is going to be made with attention to detail, with respect to traditions whilst using modern innovation and top quality ingredients. We want the care and attention that we put into creating our beer to be reflected in the dispatch of our artisan product, ensuring our customers have an industry leading experience, whether they are receiving 10 pallets or 10 cans.

**Responsibilities**

Reporting in to our Head Brewer, ultimately you’d be responsible for assisting with the production and packaging of beer, as well as the dispatch of all goods onsite on a rotational pattern.

Your day to day responsibilities would include;
- Warehouse management - being the point of contact for all things relating to our warehouse, cold store and raw materials storage
- Supporting with kegging and canning operations
- Manual handling of kegs, cans, malt sacks, and all ancillary inventory items
- Maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness with brewhouse & warehouse
- Assisting with the management of all incoming & outgoing stock from raw ingredients, packaging materials to finished goods
- Assisting with sales administration and calls when required (usually once per week for upto 4 hours)
- Deliveries to London, South Coast & into Reading and the surrounding areas using company vehicles to facilitate
- Being the face of Double-Barrelled to many of our customers and representing us at events
- Weekly stock checks
- Assisting with the setup of the Taproom
- Quality control and daily cellar checks including Co2 & DO recordings
- Dry hopping and post-fermentation adjunct additions and force carbonating

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you’ll be working with our sales and marketing teams as well as our external customers
- Ability to work autonomously and as a key member of a small team
- Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks
- A self-starter with a positive can-do attitude
- Happy to jump into other parts of the business where required - from assisting within the brewery, to answering the phones, maintenance, representing DB at events, pouring at the taproom; the nature of our small business means being flexible and willing to provide an extra pair of hands wherever they are needed.

**Requirements**:

- Friendly, personable demeanour - you will be the face of DB to many of our customers, so your fit within our team and brewery ethos is really key
- Interest and passion in making beer - though training will be provided, having a natural passion for this will help in this role
- Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team
- Experience with inventory-based IT systems - we currently work with Teams, Breww, Google Sheets, route planning software, amongst others (training will be provided in all aspects that are needed)
- Physically fit - being able to comfortably lift 25kg, manual handling training will be provided, and relevant equipment to support manual handling is available on site
- Must have a full, clean UK drivers license and be comfortable driving a large transit-style van in London when required
- Must be over 25 years old for insurance reasons

**The Role and benefits**
- Salary starting at £25,000 per annum
- Working hours - Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm a with an unpaid hour break at lunch (some hours flexibility may be required)
