**Civil Design Engineer**

~ Droitwich, Birmingham ~

£45,000 to £55,000 + Package (including company car)

A new exciting opportunity has arisen in for an experienced structural design engineer to join this rapidly expanding private company.
On offer is an influential company, where there is a clear path of progression, supported multiple training opportunities and experiences.
This is a market leading company, who provide flood defence solutions to the UK and abroad, across both commercial and residential sectors. They have rapidly expanded since they were established as their own company, separate from their parent group whichwas set up in 2010. They have a strong and stable client base, including: government, local authorities, project managers etc.

The facilities this company have (on the same site as their office) are market leading. They attract multiple clients, risk management and insurance companies, as well as the CPD certification service
- who they partner with to deliver principals of design trainingand product explanations.
In this role you will be expected to design structures that can cope with external stress and pressures from environmental conditions and human use. You will do this through using computer modelling simulations, where you can predict how relative structureswill act in different conditions.

You will be expected to have a good understanding of materials, to be able to advise what could be considered for different structures. You must guarantee all stages of each project comply with legal, environmental and health and safety standards.
The Role:

- Produce design for retaining walls, using reinforced concrete and other materials.
- Calculate the loads and stresses on structural foundations, beams and walls.
- Assess and recommend building repairs/demolition.
- Carry out planning and building regulation documentation for approval.

The Person:

- Chartered with 5 years' experience in design.
- Has a 'get up and go' attitude.
- Has full & clean UK driver's license.
- Preferably has experience using Solidworks and CAD.
