We are on the lookout for a DBS & Vetting Officer to join our well-established client based in Abingdon. This is a temporary ongoing position, and the hourly rate is between £14.17 to £15.63 per hour. This role will be working Monday to Friday with no weekends. You will be required to travel to various locations for this position.

Our client is the elected body responsible for the most strategic local government services in the county. These services include but are not limited to highways, street lighting, school admissions, health and social care, registrations, blue badges, and bus passes.

About the role:
As a DBS & Vetting Officer, you are responsible for:

- Provide advice, guidance, and support on details of safer recruitment issues to minimis risk to children and vulnerable adults.
- Provide assistance to the DBS and Vetting process by way of managing face to face DBS appointments and telephone calls.
- Receive requests for DBS disclosures and record applicant details on various complex spreadsheets, maintaining precision.
- Process requests according to the organisations code of practice and procedures, the requirements of Safer Recruitment policies, Umbrella Body agreements and Checking Criminal Records of Employees and Volunteers policy.
- Assist with the DBS appointment booking process for drivers and passenger assistants as the first point of contact.
- Be the organisations representative at the face to face DBS appointment. Check all ID documents are accurate in order that the DBS check can be completed.
