We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Prison Healthcare Assistant to join our client's team in Lewes. As a Prison Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services to prisoners within the prison facility. Your support and assistance will contribute to the well-being and overall health of the prison population.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the delivery of healthcare services to prisoners under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals.
- Provide practical support to prisoners with their daily living activities, including personal care, medication administration, and wound dressing.
- Monitor and observe prisoners' physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare staff.
- Support the healthcare team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Assist in the implementation of health promotion activities and disease prevention initiatives within the prison setting.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, prison staff, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for prisoners.
- Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines related to healthcare in the prison environment.
- Promote a compassionate and non-judgmental approach in the delivery of care to prisoners.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols to maintain a safe environment for both prisoners and staff.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar support role is desirable.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals in the prison population.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Basic understanding of healthcare procedures and infection control measures.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a secure environment.
