The key purpose of this role is to provide Subject Matter Expertise on the design, development and enhancement of our Data estate, to assist the business increasing operational efficiency and reduce operational risks.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Engage with the business to gather requirements and take ownership for the delivery of development work within the agreed timelines.
- Provide Technical advice to the Senior Manager Data & Integration Systems to ensuring exacting standards of quality, security (incl IT Security and Data Privacy), continuity of service, are delivered to meet AL and client needs.
- Use technology appropriately and flexibly, taking into consideration the company’s strategy and security requirements.
- Monitor Platform performance in accordance with agreed SLAs and help deliver resolution of platform defects, outages and incidents.
- Support engagement with key suppliers by providing technical expertise, working to clearly articulate business requirements and facilitate tie identification of vendor solutions.
- Adhere to the company’s standards and best practices, including, but not limited to, documentation, testing and peer review.
- Ensure maintenance of the development infrastructure required by the above tools. In particular, maintenance the source code repository, continuous build and deployment facilities.
- Seek opportunities to deliver business value via innovation and technology.
- Provide technical advice to the business users by identifying the most appropriate tools/processes for any given task.
- Ensures quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of the code base.

**Knowledge / Experience**
- Extensive experience in a busy IT department.
- Financial Services background desirable
- Strong project management skills
- Broad knowledge of technologies across the IT landscape
- Experience at a similar level in a comparable type & size of business
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly computer literate; with strong Business Analysis skills

**Key Skills**
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL across different versions.Including managing, deploying and resolving issues with MSSQL 2012-2019 SSRS/SSAS/SSIS both on prem and on the Azure estate
- Resolving base product issues by coordinating with 3 party vendors of the Banks Data & Integration Channels
- Providing work around/data patching for base product/customisation issues
- Analysis, design of custom functionality as per business requirement
- Provide migration and reconciliation support
- Liaise with supplier to fix defects found during unit testing, system integration testing and acceptance testing

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with colleagues, providers and senior management.
