Warehouse Operative

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team, responsible for efficiently picking food stock and ensuring its timely delivery to our network of peri peri restaurants. As a crucial part of our supply chain, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operations of our restaurants by ensuring the availability of fresh and high-quality food ingredients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Stock Picking**: Accurately and efficiently pick food items from the warehouse according to established orders and inventory lists, maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- **Packaging**: Properly pack picked items to prevent damage and maintain food safety standards, ensuring that items are labeled correctly and clearly for easy identification.
- **Inventory Management**: Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory records, alerting supervisors to any discrepancies or shortages to facilitate timely replenishment.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure that all picked food items meet the company's quality standards and specifications, promptly reporting any quality issues to supervisors.
- **Delivery Preparation**: Organise and load delivery vehicles with the picked food stock, utilizing safe stacking and securing methods to prevent damage during transportation.
- **Delivery Execution**: Safely drive delivery vehicles to designated restaurant locations, adhering to traffic laws and company policies, and making sure to deliver orders within specified timeframes.
- **Route Optimisation**: Efficiently plan and optimise delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- **Customer Interaction**: Provide excellent customer service by professionally interacting with restaurant staff during deliveries, addressing any inquiries and representing the company in a positive manner.
- **Health and Safety**: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper handling and transportation of perishable food items, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- **Communication**: Maintain clear and open communication with warehouse supervisors, restaurant managers, and colleagues to address any delivery challenges, changes, or special instructions.
- **Documentation**: Complete all required delivery and inventory documentation accurately and promptly, ensuring proper record-keeping for auditing and accountability purposes.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, stock picking, and/or delivery preferred.
- Ability to drive a forklift would be hugely beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy packages.
- Familiarity with route optimisation and navigation tools is a plus.

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
