This is a great opportunity to join a reputable and long-established business in Rochdale working as a finance assistant. Requiring someone with a strong level of experience within transactional accounting, this role offers responsibility over two businesses and sites, offering a varied workload and high levels of autonomy.

This position is ideal for someone looking for a role offering job security, working for a business established for over 60 years. A strong salary is on offer in the hopes of attracting the right person, with attention to detail and high accuracy levels. Working in manufacturing, having experience in a similar industry and knowledge of stock is highly advantageous but not essential.

**Your main roles and responsibilities**:
This position is in control of end-to-end purchase ledger, assisting in payroll and includes month end duties, working both independently and as a team, requiring good technical ability.
- Processing of all Purchase Invoices - Including both stock invoices and overheads
- Managing all purchasing queries, resolving queries with excellent delivery
- Generation of Weekly Payment Runs
- Reconciliation of all Supplier Statements using Excel
- Processing BACS payments
- Processing company expenses
- Preparing Daily Sales information
- Daily reconciliation of Cashbook
- Ad hoc assistance with wider areas of the finance team including sales ledger
- Processing a company payroll of weekly and monthly paid staff
- Fielding inbound accounts department calls and taking payments via phone
- Assisting in monthly reporting
- Company Credit Card reconciliation
- Reconciliation of Petty Cash
- Processing of Customer Claims/Credit Notes
- Assisting the finance manager in month end duties
- Good ability within Excel - knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookups, and Sum-ifs
- Strong query resolution and communication skills - being able to resolve issues, question thoroughly and chase for further information as required.
- Experience in multi-currency is highly advantageous (not essential)
- Driving license and car preferred as the office is site based and will require some travel between (situated in close proximity to each other)
- Knowledge of payroll and general areas of accounting (not essential)
