We are looking for a Systems Architect - Windows Desktop & Active Directory SME for an initial 6 month contract

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- An experienced Windows Desktop third-line engineer with high-level of experience of maintaining and trouble-shooting the Windows platform. Joining a mid-sized Investment Bank in The City of London with 2,000 workstations. Mix of office and work from home.
- Lead in Windows Desktop implementation projects, Windows upgrade projects, patching, packaging, deploying apps, scripting, third-line troubleshooting.
- You will work with a multitude of Windows utilities, including Appsense Application Control, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Altiris software deployment solution.
- This is a third-line engineering role. Working alongside one other third-line engineer.
- In-depth working knowledge of Windows 10 O/S platform essential and VM / VDI solution would be an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of security components, SEP and Appsense an advantage. This is a engineering role.
- Proven ability to build desktop architectures from scratch
- The role is one of an Subject Matter Expert (SME) authority with configuring and implementing Windows O/S software.
- VM or VDI platform knowledge would be advantageous as the company is now exploring the technology.
- Must have good scripting, interrupted language skills - Java, Python etc. to assist self in the deployment of routines to manage the Windows 10 platform
- Install, test, troubleshoot and configure new Windows solutions and facilitate their smooth and seamless deployment into production service and handover to the operations teams
- Knowledge of Windows security constructs and able to design the implementation of security products. The role demands a high level of hands-on technical knowledge of Windows security
- Sometime will be spent documenting, explaining and handing over to operations and demonstrating how the newly implemented systems are designed and configured.
- Able to follow and manage Change, Problem and Incident Management
