**Clinical**: To work in a busy Paediatric Cardiology Ward covering inpatient care, participating in daily cardiology ward rounds with senior colleagues including specialist ward rounds. Involved with inpatient/outpatient day cases. During your time, you will also be encouraged to attend all areas of the unit including cardiac theatres, catheter laboratory, echo department and weekly case discussions. Administrative: Admission clerking and other ward-based duties like assessments, daily or more frequent clinical review as necessary, prescribing, requesting investigations and actioning results.

**Completing discharge summaries in timely manner. Research**: Opportunities to participate in ongoing or new research projects within the department. To develop and pursue research ideas within congenital cardiology with the support of consultants. Teaching: There is a formal teaching programme specifically for SHOs within the department on a weekly basis.
