Mowbray Special School is based over 2 sites. The main school is situated in Bedale and caters for children aged 3 to 16. The Satellite School is in Ripon and provides an education for children aged 3 to 11. We currently have over 300 pupils on role across both sites and are the largest special school in North Yorkshire.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Advanced Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers within our Secondary department at our Bedale Site

Our Bedale site is unique in that it has its own 5.5 acre onsite farm and a separate 1 acre wild life area. The farm has livestock, including rare breed sheep, pigs and turkeys, which are part of rare breed programs. In addition to this we have chickens, goats, horses and donkeys. There is also a horticulture section to the farm, with poly tunnels and growing areas.

Activities will involve planning, preparing and delivering of learning activities as well as monitoring pupils, assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development
