About you:

You have experience of working in an organisation that delivers large-scale construction projects, with a proven record of driving financial performance by focusing on the things that really matter.

You'll be the first point of contact in Finance for the Director of Asset Operations, supporting them and their management team in their decision making

You can work within a matrix team structure, reporting into Finance and developing trusted working relationships with fellow Finance Business Partners and across the Financial Controller-ship and Investment Management teams who support the business, whilstalso becoming an integral part of the Asset Operations management team

You're comfortable with ambiguity and can effect lasting positive change in how the business understands its performance, whilst ensuring stakeholder buy in

You're looking to use these skills in a role that will really make a difference, in a business that plays a key role in enabling the UK's transition to Net Zero energy.
- You will hold the business accountable from "plan to performance", ensuring that financial forecasts are based on stretching but credible assumptions, driving insight from a combination of business and financial performance data to build confidence thatperformance will be delivered and instigate early discussion and action where performance is at risk
- You will ensure that investment decisions are made with the right financial rigor - so that the accounting and the regulatory impact of spend is understood at the point of sanction, and the business are clear about how the investment will impact their financialtargets
- Working with your fellow Finance Business Partner colleagues you'll help to embed a greater financial performance culture within the organisation, assessing today's processes to identify weaknesses and implementing solutions that balance the needs of financeand business stakeholders

**Technical / Specialist Skills and Experience**
- Investment appraisal - Skilled
- Planning, forecasting and budgeting - Skilled
- Reporting financial information - Skilled

You either hold a recognised Accounting Qualification ( ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or you can demonstrate experience equivalent to qualification level

It's not essential to have worked in a Regulated industry, but you will need to develop a good working knowledge of the RIIO-T2 framework within the role so that you can provide insight to the business as to the financial impact of their decisions
