Maintenance Handyman/woman

_Cliff House Care Home offers residential care to 40 residents and offers the perfect combination of care and independence. At Halcyon Care, we firmly believe in respecting the dignity of our residents, providing freedom of choice in daily routines and activities._

**We are currently recruiting someone to work 20 hours per week. (15 hours as Handyperson, 5 hours gardening)**

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home and prioritise routine work effectively.
- To be on-call for emergencies, attending the home as needed or as appropriate to give advice to other staff over the telephone. To be part of the “emergency team”.
- To ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times
- To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the Home
- To supervise outside contractors
- To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption, written records to be kept when required.
- To carry out all “safety” checks as set in maintenance manual (which is not exhaustive). Written records to be kept.
- To test and check all portable electrical appliances that residents bring into the Home, following training/guidance.
- To ensure all equipment is periodically maintained and attend to emergency maintenance work as required.
- To understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures
- To attend all training sessions as required, specifically statutory training including manual handling
- To undertake driving duties as required if applicable.

**Salary**: £11.74 per hour
