Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis, in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-longread lengths. We are looking for motivated molecular biologist to play a key role in the development of a new line of devices, aimed at point of care use. As part of the Liquid Biopsy Platforms team, you will tasked with the characterisation of new chemistries, as wellas their integration and optimisation on the devices being developed.

The purpose of our liquid biopsy platforms is to enable the analysis of samples directly from complex biological fluids, such as blood and saliva. This powerful capability will allow the adoption of our nanopore sensing technology by a much broader groupof healthcare professionals, eventually leading to a line of consumer products. As part of the team, you will play a key role in the development of the platform chemistries and their integration in the new device. This will require close collaboration witha highly multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

- Taking responsibility for the planning and running of experiments.
- Data analysis and performance evaluation.
- Demonstrate high standards of experimental work, analytical skill, and creative problem-solving ability.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve results.
- Clear and thorough reporting and communication of findings.

What We're Looking For...
A PhD (or equivalent experience) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Biophysics is required. Experience in the development of biomedical devices is also essential for this position. Familiarity with DNA sequencing, microfabrication technology and fluid dynamicsare highly desirable. Demonstrable industry/post-doctoral experience is preferred.

We will expect you to be an enthusiastic individual with a creative approach to problem solving and good attention to detail. You will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and in close collaboration with others. The multidisciplinary nature ofthe project requires the Scientist in this position to be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner with colleagues across the company.
