Initial employment will be on a 6 month contract, which will be extended to a permanent contract if individual shows a good work ethic, skill uptake and performance.

Jaffe et Fils Ltd is a small family run feather business based in Axminster, Devon. The business was founded in 1946 but has been based in Axminster since 1974. We manufacture high end fashion accessories, military headwear and giftware all made from feathers. All of the feathers are dyed onsite by ourselves and we take great pride in the production of quality goods using these feathers.

We are looking for an individual to join our team and to work in a variety of different roles as required. Tasks may include dyeing assistant, feather sorting, feather stripping, feather preparation, steaming and trimming of feathers to orders, packaging of goods and dispatch. This unique job requires an individual who is determined, good hand eye co-ordination and dexterity using scissors would be an advantage.

Sewing skill would be beneficial but not essential.

The successful applicant will receive all necessary training for the job.

He/She would benefit from having;
- an interesting in learning new techniques/skills
- a good work ethic and a high degree of responsibility
- strong attention to detail
- the ability to prioritise jobs according to importance and within time scales.
- good colour recognition/vision

Starting salary dependent on qualifications and/or experience.

The position would be best suited to someone who lives in or close to Axminster and has their own transport.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
