This post is an exciting new opportunity to join our growing team, who will be launching Bangor University’s Student Ambassador Scheme. The role will be responsible for supporting the recruiting, training and deploying of students on a day-to-day basis to the various requests that are made of the scheme. The post-holder will also be responsible for the processing of the finances associated with the scheme to ensure that payroll deadlines are hit.

Educated to A Level or equivalent, the role holder will be someone who is highly organised and someone with strong people skills to enable them to build relationships with the internal and external stakeholders needed to ensure the success of the scheme. The post-holder will also need to have good attention to detail and be good with finance. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to fulfil this role.

Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to assist in the day to day running of the student ambassador scheme and the associated financial administration of both the scheme and the wider department. Reporting directly to the Senior Student Ambassador Officer and working within the Department of UK Recruitment and Admissions. You will assist with the planning and delivery of the annual recruitment and training of the student ambassadors as well as the day to day running of the scheme and the financial administration associated with both the scheme and the wider department.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- To act as a core part of the Student Ambassadors inter-face, including receiving and processing student timesheets and DBS forms.
- Administrating the issuing of student ambassador contracts and carrying out right to work checks in line with the University’s recruitment policies and procedures.
- To use the online system used to administrate the scheme and keep data within the system accurate and up to date.
- To assist in the development and delivery of the training package for the student ambassador scheme.
- Processing requests for student ambassadors and using the online system to fulfil them.
- Processing student ambassador timesheets in preparation for sign off by the Senior Student Ambassador Officer, in line with the Marketing Communications and Recruitment Directorate and Finance departments policies and procedures.
- To use the University’s finance system to process orders from across the department/directorate and to record this activity on a central spreadsheet.
- Co-ordinating mail-lists and a calendar of work requests.
- Day to day selection of and communication with student ambassadors.
- Ordering of resources such as uniform and lanyards where necessary.
- Updating the Student Ambassador’s web pages, social media channels and e-communications relating to the Ambassador scheme.
- Build a network of regular users of the ambassador scheme and hold regular meetings with this network to collate feedback on the effectiveness of the staff and to contribute ideas for further training needs.
- To support the financial processing of the needs of the wider Directorate.
- Provide cross-section support on events and activities in relation to UK recruitment and widening participation, including attending open and offer holder days, UCAS fairs and delivering presentations where required. This will involve staying away from home and will involve working some evenings and weekends.
- To undertake such other duties, commensurate with the grading of the post that may be assigned by your line manager.
