The salary for this permanent Rotational Midwife job is £56,972 - £60,931 per annum.
**Role summary**:
- Work as a midwife providing the full range of care needs to develop, implement and evaluate care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period for women and their families.
- Interacts with medical staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team when deviations from the norm occur to promote a healthy outcome for mother and infant
- Provide effective leadership and act as a good role model
- Supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff acting as a mentor.
- Work autonomously within guidelines and spheres of professional practice.
**Duties**:
- Support working relationships and effective communication with the Multidisciplinary team in both the in-patient and community service. Interact with external agencies i.e. Social Care
- Responsible for the assessment and planning of the midwifery care needs of clients in the hospital and community environment.
- Attending to clients who have limited or no English - arranging interpreting services to assist with communication.
- Ensuring any impairments to communication are understood and care facilitated
- Provide telephone or personal advice to women who have concerns about their pregnancy, care or the services available
- Receive telephone calls from GP’s, laboratory staff or other health workers regarding concerns or risk to client or unborn child’s health - make appropriate referrals to Primary or Secondary care practitioners
- Input data onto the Maternity Information Systems, ensuring information is prompt, correct and outcomes updated
- Utilise hospital information technology systems to obtain patient information or test results
- Adhere to HCS Polices in relation to information governance and Patient confidentiality
**Requirements of the Rotational Midwife**:
- Be Registered Midwives, accountable for their own midwifery practice and will be able to fulfil the following role through the ability to make decisions with current protocols and principles of care in compliance with the NMC’s Midwives Rules and code of Midwifery Practice
- Be confident in providing midwife led care and should have post qualifying experience
- Degree/Diploma
- Car driver
