My client who is a leading design and manufacturer company that supply bespoke exterior lighting for the worlds leading performance and luxury automotive brands are currently recruiting a Project Buyer to join the team. The Project buyer will be primarilyresponsible for developing strong and robust supply chains that are supporting the operation, ensuring close working relationships with all internal customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who will meet important Procurement milestones, can hit the ground running and work as a self-starter who embraces a team working mindset in an established organisation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Process and issue purchase orders/schedules and make necessary changes, including obtaining quotes, negotiating costs, payment terms and all other related issues.
- Procure a variety of goods and services in accordance with company policies in an MRP/ERP environment.
- Expedite and track required parts or processes to support production schedules.
- Negotiate long term contracts, ensuring continuity of supply and that budget targets are maintained.
- Analyse and process supplier notifications.Analyse and process supplier notifications
- Identify potential new suppliers, develop new and alternative sources of supply, and carry out transfer of work as per the defined process.
- Continually monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of suppliers.
- Provide a central contact point for multiple project teams to deliver the objectives for new product introduction projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Serve as a liaison between internal customers and suppliers.
- Assist in resolving supplier related quality issues.
- Ensure best practice purchasing techniques.
- Perform any other related task as required.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Preferably CIPS Qualified with 3+ years' experience in a similar role within the automotive sector.
- Strong Negotiator.
- Tenacious problem solver.
- Computer literate (includes presenting information) in MS Office programmes including Excel

(Vlookup, pivot tables etc.) and MS Project.
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative and be able to prioritise workload and make decisions. under pressure, as an individual and as part of a team.
- Must possess excellent attention to detail.
- Fluent in Mandarin an advantage, but not essential.

**Key measures**:
Quality: Adhere to Purchasing procedures and document requirements.

Cost: Manage and track cost against and within project budgets.

Delivery: Deliver to project timings, budgets and cost as agreed with the Customer.

People: Personal development and training against appraisal matrix.

Health & safety: Adhere to company procedures & audit requirements.

Housekeeping: Meet requirements of 5S audits.

**Ideally, you will have experience of operating in a dynamic, fast moving Supply Chain and can collaborate effectively with stakeholders from Manufacturing, Design and Operations.
