**GENERALThe post-holder will**: Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service of the highest standard Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines Develop and maintain good working practices, including adhering to departmental SOPs and guidelines issued by professional bodies such as the Royal College of Pathologists Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues and other members of the team including laboratory, secretarial and mortuary staff. Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care All Consultants have a continuing and individual responsibility for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients in their charge. Within Histopathology, Consultants are expected to share in the duties associated with providing an efficient and effective service, making use of all available skill mix including biomedical scientist dissection. The Consultant will be responsible to the Chief Executive of the Trust via the Clinical Lead and Divisional Director.
