Head of Operations

**All Jigsaw Puzzles** is a small, dynamic and ambitious organisation with an entrepreneurial ethos and a supportive, friendly culture that makes jigsaw puzzles and other products at its production facility near Okehampton, Devon.

We're looking for a Head of Operations to take us to our next stage of growth. Reporting to the Managing Director your role will be to oversee and improve the manufacturing process to meet the changing demands for our products and desire for growth.

In this role you will:

- Oversee the complete manufacturing process of all products
- Manage production staff and oversee team of production managers
- Oversee production planning, with a focus on peak trading,
- Oversee maintenance & servicing of production machinery
- Oversee building & infrastructure maintenance requirements
- Enable scaling up of current production facility for enhanced capacity
- Oversee review of product production costs
- Identify and reduce inefficiencies and reduce cost of production
- Recommend machinery and equipment for capital investment
- Enable and co-ordinate changes to product specifications quickly and efficiently
- Ensure interdepartmental communications are working effectively to improve quality and output performance

With a thorough understanding of lean and continuous improvement methodologies, you will have experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on cost reduction and quality improvement. Comfortable with IT you will also be a key member of a team implementing a new IT system and understand how technology can impact the manufacturing process.

You will likely have the following:

- Experience of a manufacturing operation with a fast turnaround gearing up for growth, ideally with hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
- A thorough understanding of demand planning and experience of how to achieve efficiency, quality and cost improvements
- Be from a mechanical/technical background
- Excellent leadership skills
- Have been part of a family orientated, hand-on business
- Be used to being a key part of the senior management team
- Be a great communicator and teamworker across all departments within the organisation
