**Main Responsibilities**:
The overall purpose of the Bin Cleaning Assistant (BCA) is to help the Primary Bin Cleaner (PBC) with their rounds and will report directly to this position. The responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

- Assist with preparing the van and trailer for the daily rounds
- Preparing bin stickers for new customer bins, as well as replacing any degraded bin stickers on existing customer bins
- Collecting bins from customer properties and presenting them to the PBC for cleaning, making sure to check bins for waste first and remove any larger bits prior to cleaning
- Return bins to customer property, ensuring quality control by checking that they are properly cleaned, however it remains the PBC overall responsibility to ensure bins are being cleaned to the required standard
- Ensure PBC has continual supply of fresh mops and cloths when required
- Liaising with kerbside enquiries when the PBC is otherwise occupied, deferring to the PBC if needed
- Assist with wash down of trailer at the end of the round, and help prepare for the following day if rounds are scheduled
- Deliver leaflets and assist with other marketing activities when required
- Assist with regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment

Whilst the job is listed as part-time, there is scope to increase the hours to full time by the Summer if you have completed successfull training period.

**Person Specification**:

- A good level of common sense and vigilance is required - Work is carried out at the kerbside, so it is essential that members of the public are not harmed by the activity of cleaning bins, and property is not damaged. The employee must also ensure they do not harm themselves in the process
- The ability to adapt to different situations whilst keeping calm - There are several variables whilst out cleaning bins, it requires the individual to adapt quickly without becoming fixated on the reasons
- Flexible approach to working - On occasion the job may dictate working longer hours than expected due to unforeseen circumstances, in these instances you would be required to help ensure the work is completed
- Resilience & Stamina - The work can be physically demanding, and often in inclement weather. The individual should be able to continue to work at a high physical level for several hours, and not be overly concerned about a bit of rain
- Reliability - The individual will be relied upon to help ensure the work agreed is completed within a certain timeframe, so will need to ensure they turn up on time and ready to work each day

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**:

- Educated to at least GCSE level with at least grade C in Maths & English
- Good level of verbal & written communication
- Knowledge of Pressure Washing & Generator equipment an advantage
- Full Clean Driving Licence is essential for progression
- Experience driving with a trailer would be ideal

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
