**Job objectives and responsibilities**
- To operate, maintain and install (with minimum supervision) new and existing building services to specified standards as determined by the contract, the client and company procedures.

**Main duties**

**Mechanical Fitter responsible for;**
- To always conduct themselves in a professional, pro-active and positive manner
- To ensure that customer relationships are created and maintained to the highest standard
- To communicate all relevant details to the client, planning team or Team leaders in a timely manner
- To give a clear written description of any work task attended to update or complete. Giving clear information of the process used to complete the task on the relevant job sheet for any task carried out
- To operate under full compliance with Sellafield SLSP's in the service delivery
- Achieve and maintain Mechanical NP Status for both SL and Mitie
- To deliver H&S compliance at all times to protect themselves, colleagues and others
- To deliver a high standard of work at all times within expected timescales and to expected standards
- Provides quotations/estimates in line with the contract requirements for the operations or project team to enable efficient and timely quotations to be produced
- Take responsibility for the coordination of subcontractors working within their scope of works when required
- Attending stakeholder meetings to discuss the safe system of work to be implemented assisting in the development of the scope of works
- To take a pro-active approach to customer liaison and ensure concerns are dealt with or relayed to line management promptly
- To understand and comply with all company policies and procedures
- To attend and fully participate in all training and appraisal activities as required
- To communicate with planners, Team leaders and line management daily to discuss work progress and any issues that need communicated to the business
- To carry out any reactive, PPM or project duties when instructed through Team leader or planning function
- Identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements and report these promptly to Team leader or line management to discuss possible options
- Maintain all personal and vehicle records in accordance with company policy
- Complete engineering worksheets in a timely and legible manner
- Complete summary and overtime sheets in a timely manner
- To use mobile phones effectively as per company policy and Team Leader guidance

**Person Specification**

**Experience**
- A good general knowledge of nuclear site non core operational practices would be advantageous coupled with a sound understanding of health & safety good practices. Should have a high standard of workmanship within their technical field of expertise.
- Must have ability to liaise with client representatives at on operational and H&S levels.
- Have the ablility to organise work and liaise with multi discipline operational teams
- Experience of working with subcontractors across all workstreams
- 5 years trade experience at the workface

**Qualifications**
- Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting (minimum of NVQ L3)
- Full clean driving license
- IOSH Working Safely certificate (desirable)

**Additional Skills**
- IT experience - Microsoft, Excel (desirable)

- Must be a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, focussed on service delivery, operational support & customer service.
- Able to develop and nurture long term lasting relationships with the client, staff, sub-contractors and other service suppliers. Acting with Integrity at all times and with a diligent approach to organising work and dealing with our customers.
- Utilising a positive approach to ensure a good work ethic exists within the team to enable works to meet statutory compliance as a minimum, whilst striving to meet with industry best practice. Will demonstrate a willingness to adapt to new methods, keep abreast of clients procedures and health & Safety Legislation**.**
