**About the team**
We are looking to appoint a Registration Officer to conduct and register marriages, civil partnerships and other non-statutory ceremonies at the Cheshunt Register Office and approved premises in the East Herts area. The post is to work at weekends only, to help the team at Cheshunt cover the ceremonies booked for the summer period.
**About the role**
Marriage and civil partnership ceremonies vary from very small and intimate ceremonies to very large ceremonies at imposing venues with sometimes over 250 guests attending.
You will be required to deliver the ceremonies in a professional and confident manner. For the registration of the event a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy is essential. You will be required to input marriages and civil partnerships onto the on-line national registration system.
You will be expected to work at least two to three weekends in every month and sometimes at short notice. You may also be asked to work on other Register Office weekend rotas on certain popular days for ceremonies.
**About you**
Essential:
- Registration experience with a sound knowledge of registration law.
- Excellent presentation skills to deliver the appropriate ceremonies often in very imposing venues, occasioning a large financial investment on behalf of the customer.
- Ability to understand complicated and detailed legislation, rules and procedures and interpret them to customers in emotional and sensitive situations.
Desirable:
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good standard of English and numeracy and the ability to write legibly and to spell correctly.
- Good IT skills and attention to detail

**English Fluency**
