Are you an experienced Head of Care looking for a new challenge to help grow a newly established children’s EBD and SEMH service?

This role involves providing outstanding care for looked after children within a residential home. You will be required to have knowledge and experience of: Children's Act, Ofsted regulations, Staff management, compliance and safeguarding in line with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Social Emotional Mental Health young people.

Your role as Head of care will be to lead from the front, setting excellent examples for staff and young people alike. You will be provided with the opportunity to recruit the team around you. There is an excellent opportunity for you to model this service around your own personality and practice methods.

**Job Responsibilities Will Include**
- Leading a manager and their team to engage with children is going to be one of your key responsibilities including: setting examples and building excellent rapport to enable independence
- Leading a team of skilled staff ensuring they are supported and trained to an excellent standard
- Providing emotional support
- Tasks including: writing care plans, organisation around referrals, staff management and training, liaising with social workers and family members of young people.
- Understanding and knowledge of safeguarding processes and policies
- Keeping a record of support and focusing on positive outcomes for the children you support
- De-escalating challenging behaviour
- Working in a team and delegation of tasks
- Holding an Ofsted registration if required

**Key Requirements/skills**
- Must have a caring and open-minded nature and be willing to work on call
- Experience with EBD, Challenging behaviour, Mental health or substance misuse
- Experience of working within a residential children’s setting
- Experience in creating a statement of purpose and setting up all policies and procedures to meet in line with Ofsted requirements
- Experience of fit-for-purpose interviews and experience holding a registration
- Hold or willing to work toward a Level 5 Health and Social Care Management and Leadership
- Must be a driver
