I am currently recruiting for an experienced **Expense Business Partner** to join a widely-respected insurance firm on a temporary to permanent basis.

**Expense Business Partner / London and hybrid working / Temp to perm**

**The Role**:
The Expense Business Partner is responsible for supporting the Head of FP&A and Head of Expenses in the delivery of expense related financial management information and analysis within the FP&A Team. This includes: monthly management reporting, forecasting,planning, business insight and finance team development.

**Responsibilities will include**:
Business Partnering:

- Develop strong working relationships with cost centre budget holders to enable robust forecasting and planning
- Provide actual vs budget expense management, analysis and narrative
- Have engaging and challenging conversations with the business to enable them to make good decisions on expenses
- Be responsible for provision of month end adjustments and accruals
- Support FP&A in communication and explanation of expense related financial information to other teams within Finance as well as the wider company

Reporting:

- Production of monthly MI and underlying analytical schedules across the expense areas within the profit and loss account
- Run the monthly allocation of expenses from the service company to group entities
- Review the output of the offshore Expense Management team
- Support the offshore Expense Management team when queries arise, and issues require resolution
- Assist the Head of FP&A, Head of Expenses and senior FP&A team members in providing insightful analysis and recommendations - delivering high quality understanding of the underlying cost base and drivers of budget variances
- Preparing schedules and analysis for statutory accounting purposes
- Help develop, extend and maintain existing suite of reports

Forecasting:

- Support the Head of FP&A, Head of Expenses and senior FP&A team members in production of quarterly and ad hoc forecasting across the expense areas of the income statement
- Help develop, maintain and extend forecasting capability

Planning:

- Assist in the preparation of the Syndicate Business Forecast (SBF) and Management Plan
- As required help perform analyses of SBF and management plan output to help inform decision making and understand drivers of future performance

Finance Team Development / Interaction:

- Play an active and engaged part in the long-term development of FP&A team output and capabilities
- Understand how the expense base impacts the company's overall management and statutory result
- Contribute new ideas for fresh analysis, continuous improvement of processes and making better use of technology
- Work collaboratively and build relationships with other teams across the business, including overseas offices
- Support overall FP&A team in a variety of ad hoc tasks including: financial modelling and design of analytical framework and production of financial presentations

Skills and Experience:

- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant [CIMA/ACCA] or qualified by experience
- Previous experience within expense management
- Good commercial and management accounting understanding within expenses management
- Strong analytical and modelling skills (Advanced Microsoft Excel) as well as PowerPoint skills
- TM1 and SUN experience beneficial, but not essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and focused on the delivery of high-quality work within agreed deadlines, including thorough self-review and error checking
- Proactive and able to use own initiative - adaptable / open minded
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
