**Teaching Assistant**

**Hours**:Part-Time, Permanent, (28 hours per week, Mon - Thurs, 8:30am - 4:00 pm)

**Location**:West Bromwich

**Salary**: NMW - £22,500 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience, skills & qualifications)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a **Teaching Assistant** based in our **West Bromwich **centre.

Nova Training is one of the UK’s most popular and experienced training providers operating for over 30 years in Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. Nova now operates its 14-24 provision from 13 locations located across the West Midlands and East of England.Our programme delivery now includes; 16-18 study programmes, pre-apprenticeships, provision for learners with high needs, apprenticeships and 14-16 alternative provision.

Rated as Good by Ofsted in all areas of provision for offering a variety of education options to young people.

As a **Teaching Assistant **you will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs and will be committed to ensuring that all students have access to high quality education and support. Through this you will also be required to work closely with the tutors providing assistance in the classroom as well as on any outdoor activities/trips.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the class teacher in the preparation and also the delivery of the lessons/interventions for the day
- Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning.
- Interaction with parents/caregivers on a regular basis.
- Assist in dealing with any behavioural difficulties that may occur
- Be able to motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their best
- Contribute to our core vision and values
- Be able to work independently and as part of a strong and cohesive team

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting.
- Relevant Qualification/training in Special Education.
- Previous experience of working with learners who have an EHCP would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Have vision, innovation and passion for teaching and learning.
- Help us to build on already good results
- Be confident to support with planning and assessing, be creative and proactive

**Full, clean UK Driving License**
