Sensory Panelist (Part Time)
Role Description

We currently have an opening for a Sensory Panelist at Griffith Foods. As a sensory panelist your role will involve accurately describing and measuring food product attributes in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor and texture.

Job Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for describing a range of food products in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor and texture. Recognizes and learns these attributes and rates them accurately and reliably using the prescribed scales and scale references.
- Actively participates and collaborates in Descriptive Panel discussions describing product attributes, attribute definitions, use of scale and scale references.
- Responsible for completely and accurately entering own product scoring data into ballots, either on paper or via computer using specialist sensory software.
- Responsible for accurately following instructions on sample evaluation, use of scale and ballot completion given by the Sensory Manager.
- Attends and participates fully in all training sessions given for each product area and project to ensure continued understanding of product attributes and scale references.
- Follows Sensory Panelist policy regarding punctuality, attendance and absences, and panel performance monitoring.

Education and Training
- No previous experience needed.
- GCSE level or equivalent qualifications desirable.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Panelists will be given full sensory training within the first few months and will undertake a 6 months probationary period to ensure consistency and reproducibility of their analysis.
- Hours of work 9.30 to 12.30am Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 48 weeks per year
