Assistant Physiotherapy Practitioner

**22.5 hours per week, worked 3 days out of 7**:
**Post 1**: Monday & Wednesday core and Tuesday / Saturday or Sunday
**Post 2**: Thursday & Friday core and Wednesday / Saturday or Sunday
**Weekend frequency**: Repeat x 2 Saturdays or Sundays out of 3
We are looking for two suitable applicants to assist in the delivery of Physiotherapy to our Orthopaedic wards at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
The caseload is predominantly to patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery whether that is from trauma or from a planned operation such as a knee or hip replacement. There will be a medical component to the caseload too. An SVQ Level III in health sciences or equivalent is required, together with evidence of clinical competence and skills that include assessment and treatment of patients.
You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of common inpatient orthopaedic conditions with particular reference to fracture management and joint replacement. An understanding of frailty would be advantageous and a good working knowledge of appropriate daily living aids and appliances e.g. walking aids, bathing accessories is essential. Basic IT knowledge is required which includes word processing and use of the internet. The ability to work as part of a team is integral to the post.
