Brook Crompton, established in 1878, is a part of the Wolong Group of companies, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electric motors, is seeking to recruit an Finance Assistant to support the Finance Manager and Management accountant to help with a variety of finance functions and month end preparations.

**Main responsibilities will include;**
- Accounts receivable duties to include maintenance of customer accounts including credit reviews and cash collections.
- Working with Key Account managers to ensure that a good relationship and understanding can be built up with all customers on the AR ledger.
- Proactively calling customers to chase accounts when necessary and help maintain satisfactory outstanding debtor days levels.
- Implement risk strategies by adhering to credit insurance policies and advising key account managers.
- Daily cash allocation from the bank.
- Raise manual invoices and credit notes on customer accounts as necessary.
- Accounts payable duties will include matching GRNs to invoices where PO has been raised or sending relevant invoices to staff for approval in line with authorisation procedures and then processing on the system.
- Responding and dealing with queries in a timely manner.
- Assisting with the processing of monthly supplier payment runs.
- Support with month end reports including AR ageing, monthly cash forecasting and monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support with improving processes and controls.
- Support with other reporting and month end activities.
- Adhoc tasks to include post, banking and other administrative duties.
- Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail
- Communicate efficiently with other members of the team, wider business and customers
- Be able to build good relationships with customers
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- At least 3 year’s accounts experience
- AAT qualification or above - desirable
- Software, SAP, System 21, Cognos - all desirable
