**Salary**: £44,100 to £66,100 depending upon experience + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

**What are the opportunities?**

We have a strong pipeline of projects Offshore/Onshore and Hydro as part of our ambitious £24bn net capital investment plan. This new programme will see SSE enable delivery of over a quarter of the UK’s 40GW wind target by 2030 supporting progress to towards net zero.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a QS Estimator to join our Offshore Renewables Procurement and Commercial team to support the SSE Renewables project pipeline in the UK, Ireland and Internationally to support the design, and delivery of commercially successful bids and strategies.

This can encompass projects across all stages of the development process from inception of the project right through to hand over of completed projects as the projects evolve and follow the internal governance process.

**About the Role**

As QS Estimator you will generally be involved at the early development stage of bid opportunities and responsible for the commercial management and administration of Capex assessments and contracts within SSE Renewables. You will work on some of the most innovative and largest Offshore Projects and opportunities in the world. The role will ensure successful delivery in accordance with internal governance and procedures. This will involve ownership of cost data collection and development, capex modelling/estimating, cost and budget management, contract administration, dispute resolution, supplier engagement, general procurement and commercial guidance/support as required

You will be required to provide cost and estimating knowledge for use in building up project estimates. Have experience benchmarking and the use of cost metrics and historic analysis

You will take a lead role in owning and developing cost data collections to support with any new digital cost / data analysis / estimating solutions, including analysis of live supply chain data and tender returns.

Other accountabilities may include:

- Supporting the wider SSER team on all pre and post contract commercial matters
- Support preparation of cost report outputs including value of works done, risks, claims & variations
- Managing the procurement of essential work scopes, procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value.
- Complying with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance
- Building and supporting the development of relationships with main suppliers/contractors and liaise with points of contact on project(s) / contract(s)

**What do I need?**

We are looking for individuals with a high attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines that are degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience of analysing cost information and benchmarking to support estimating of large, complex, multi discipline construction works.
- Experience of estimating, sourcing management, cost & budget management and contract administration.
- Be comfortable working with a multi-skilled team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers and Designers to develop and increase the accuracy of the project cost estimate.
- Commercial contract experience in delivering large capital projects
- Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts with understanding of the relevant conditions of contract in supporting strategic projects/contracts.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary. A keen eye to detail is a must as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload.
