**Transport Planner**

**Location**: Queensferry, Sandycroft
**Days**:Monday to Friday
**Hours**: 9 to 5 (flexibility)
**Salary**: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum

**Overview**:
Join our dynamic client specialising in logistics and distribution. As a Transport Planner, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation operations to ensure cost-effectiveness, efficient route planning, and effective management of Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. This role demands a proactive approach to ensure timely and reliable delivery while maintaining high standards of service.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Route Planning: Develop and implement efficient transport strategies and route plans to maximize delivery efficiency, minimize transit time, and reduce operational costs.

Cost Efficacy: Analyze transportation costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and implement strategies to improve cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality.

HGV Driver Management: Oversee and coordinate HGV drivers, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing schedules, and addressing any operational issues promptly. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide necessary training and support.

Performance Monitoring: Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and evaluate transportation performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth coordination of transportation activities, address any arising issues, and maintain strong relationships.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience (6+ years) in transport planning or logistics management within a similar industry, with a strong understanding of route optimization, cost control, and HGV operations.
- Proficiency in transport management software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, drivers, suppliers, and clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday with occasional adjustments to support operational needs, demonstrating adaptability in scheduling.
