We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join our Business Partnering team as **Senior Finance Business Partner** for our **Customer** directorate which includes Customer Operations, Customer and Place, Customer Experience and Community Investment.

This is a **fixed term role for 12 months** and you'll be based from our new head office in Basingstoke, combining office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Finance Operations Director and being accountable to our CFO and Chief Customer Officer (CCO), this is a key role within the team giving you the opportunity to work in partnership with Executive Directors and Senior Leadership teams to formulate the Customer Directorates finance agenda and to support strategic decision making across Customer.

You will proactively challenge, introduce new ideas, add measurable value and drive the progressive development of the business. We strive to continually evolve the partnering service model to meet the changing needs of the business and you'll work closely with management teams to transform the finance business partnering service model, to simplify processes, enhance performance reporting and strengthen the culture in support of our strong business partnering vision.

Responsibilities include:

- Developing trusted relationships with senior leadership teams within Customer, analysing both the immediate and longer-term financial implications of strategic decisions
- Collaborating with the Directorate, at all levels, to fully understand the key business performance issues, objectives and drivers and associated financial requirements for both current and future business challenges
- Accountability for the production of timely, accurate monthly management reports and information, including KPI reporting, detailed variance analysis and bespoke budget holder reports
- Responsibility for producing monthly and quarterly forecasts as well as annual budgets
- Overseeing relevant Directorate input into the Group's business planning process (5 year and 30 year)
- To understand the complexity of the various business streams and activities within the Directorate and analyse the long-term financial implications of strategic decisions, to ensure that requirements are anticipated and fully evaluated and financial advice is provided that best meets business needs
- Line Management of 1 Management Accountant and 1 Finance Analyst, supporting and encouraging continuous improvement

**What we need from you**

You should be a Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience in a finance business partnering role to a large division with exposure to key management stakeholders, preferably within a Housing Association or for a company with a large customer base with multiple touchpoints.

To be successful in this role you'll need to:

- Possess a commercial and strategic approach to business partnering with the ability to negotiate with and influence senior operational business leaders
- Have strong initiative and drive, proactively gaining a full understanding of the breadth and complexity of our Customer directorates
- Prioritise exceptional customer service, nurture credibility with internal stakeholders and demonstrate a high level of professional integrity
- Demonstrate strong, working knowledge of processes and controls; experienced in financial performance reporting (including monthly management reports, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets)
- Hold experience in managing a small team and the ability to drive commitment and positivity during a period of exciting transformation
- Be a confident communicator, presenting your analysis and advice clearly and succinctly to senior leaders and Board sub-committees to enable accurate financial business planning
- Knowledge of Agresso Accounting system and Uniclass job costing system would be advantageous
