**Department Overview**

The Monetary Policy COO Division supports the Monetary Analysis, Notes, Data Analytics Transformation, Centre for Central Banking Studies and Research Hub directorates. We ensure they have the right people, processes, information and technology to deliver their strategic priorities. We collaborate with senior management to determine their strategic direction and work closely with central services and other business COOs to help deliver those goals.

**Job description**:
The Senior Business Systems Administrator acts as a conduit between the Monetary Policy Governorship business areas and Technology. The role ensures Bank-wide systems/services are available for the Directorate to perform their key roles and functions. The jobholder will proactively support our stakeholders’ requirements during critical incidents, assisting with the escalation of priority service incidents, attending the Technology & Business Alignment meetings and addressing long term technology issues in partnership with the Technology Service Manager. The role also leads on Bank-wide technology initiatives (e.g. Windows 10, M365, Researcher laptops, Virtual Desktop Interface) considering prioritisation and efficiency across the Governorship’s business areas.

Note that you do not need to be a technical IT expert for this role as it is admin-based, but it will provide scope for development of your technical understanding

The role is split into three main areas of responsibility:

- **Technology BAU support** across the Directorate: approvals and escalations (i.e. system access), case management of customer queries, providing recommendations on how to improve System robustness, security and controls
- **Central Technology, Property and change management support** (leading on software/ hardware rollouts, as well as Property works)
- **Administrative support** for Technology, Risk and Change across the MP COO.

The role holder needs to have sound judgment, strong communication and stakeholder management skills and be committed to providing a high level of customer support.

**Role Requirements**:

- Adept at recognising where technology issues and requests require escalation, with strong problem-solving skills and successful at driving issues to positive conclusions.
- The ability to gain trust and form close, effective working relationships with staff across all directorates.
- Proactive self-starter, able to work without close management oversight.
- Clear planning and organisation skills, with attention to detail.
- Acting as the point of contact for Technology change initiatives, interacting with project teams and disseminating clear guidance and advice to stakeholders
- Working productively in partnership with the Technology Service Managers, to achieve the optimum outcomes for our business areas.
- Attending Technology/partner internal meetings, minute-taking and chasing up actions.
- Ad-hoc support for other MPCOO related projects.

**Minimum (Essential) Criteria**:

- Strong prioritisation skills and experience of working to tight deadlines. Able to understand the importance of the business-critical functions across the governorship and make appropriate judgements based upon business criticality.
- Excellent organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Proven track record in stakeholder management
- Proficient knowledge and competence in Microsoft packages.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of adapting to different audiences.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience dealing with all levels of colleagues, including senior management.
- A proven team player, willing to help others achieve results, whilst being able to work independently using your own initiative.
- Ability to draft concise and understandable responses on queries/questions to non-technical audiences.
- A flexible and proactive approach.

An understanding of Service/Access Management tools (SmartIT, Sailpoint or similar tools).
