Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, as Internal Auditor, you will support the Internal Audit function to deliver our third line Internal Audit programme across the business on behalf of a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll liaise with senior leadership teams to identify areas of vulnerability where a formal audit might add significant value.

In this role, you’ll develop and maintain exceptional relationships across our business areas, in-house second line assurance team as well as our externally provided co-source internal audit partners. You’ll undertake end to end internal audit activity including leading on closing meetings where appropriate. You will confidently present your findings and recommendations to senior leadership teams and formal forums, groups and committees within our governance structure.

Using a risk-based approach you’ll monitor, report and present progress on the completion of outstanding third line audit actions using our risk management system to a range of audiences. You will effectively project manage a varied workload including the ability to multi-task on quality work deliverables. You’ll actively contribute to the development and continual improvement of the planning and delivery of the internal audit process.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to harness your audit experience and really make an impact. This is a roaming role with a mix of office and remote working, normally at least two days of the week will be in one of our workspaces, predominantly our Tewkesbury (GL20) office.

**We are looking for you to bring these skills and experience**:

- Previous experience in risk based auditing or a similar role.
- Desirable experience in housing or other regulated sector.
- A keen eye for detail and naturally inquisitive.
- Ability to assess risks and test internal controls.
- Ability to communicate with and confidently challenge colleagues of all levels of seniority.
Excellent negotiator and ability to use mediation skills.
- Strong written communicator, ensuring balance between conciseness and any supporting detail needed.
- Excellent verbal communication and presenting skills.
- Professional auditing qualifications (ACA or CIIA) preferred though not essential
- Desire and drive to learn, grow and have impact quickly as part of an expanding team
- Good time management skills and precision in delivery
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle, allowing you to travel to offices - multi site locations and teams, construction sites and localities across our geography, as required
