Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? Are you eager to support their educational journey and help them achieve their full potential?

We're seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Coaches to join our established maths team at Oldham College. These full-time, 38-week, positions offer a rewarding role for individuals who are keen on working with young people and potentially pursuing a future in teaching.

As a Maths Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in our students' maths success by contributing to their individual progress against specific target areas, delivering engaging group sessions, and providing personalised support and guidance. You'll work closely with students to set and monitor targets related to achievement, retention, attendance, and progression, while also collaborating with maths teachers to develop resources to support their learning experience.

The Role:
We are looking for Maths Coaches to work in our growing department. If you want to help to develop innovative teaching and learning strategies to enable our students to achieve their highest potential then Oldham College is for you

In this role you will:

- Inspire, challenge and support others to enable them to achieve more than they thought possible;
- Be an outstanding practitioner and role model for all;
- Nurture a culture of professional development that is integrated seamlessly in everyday practice;
- Be bold, optimistic and tenacious in setting and achieving high standards;
- Drive Oldham College’s vision and expectations to have a significant impact on students’ life chances

You must have a minimum of a Grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English or Level 2 Functional Skills and experience of working in a support/mentoring/educator role.

A Degree in Mathematics or an associated field is desirable but not essential, in addition to experience of working within the secondary or FE sector.

Oldham College is a medium sized general further education college, with a turnover of almost £25m. It has one main campus in the centre of town, and this in the third phases of a £40m redevelopment which began in 2012. Higher education is taught on a second, dedicated campus, a short walk away. The College delivers a full range of work-related education and training, including 16-18 programmes of study, T levels, apprenticeships, adult learning and higher education. It has over 5000 full-time students and 600 undergraduates.

The College is in the top quartile for 16-18 programmes of study and English GCSE resits, and in apprenticeship provision, but is the second highest performing provider Greater Manchester. The quality of its higher education provision is better than many established universities.

Joining our Journey:
When you join our college, our colleagues have access to numerous benefits and facilities:

- Generous Pension Scheme
- Fantastic Staff Benefits and Rewards platform
- Very generous holiday entitlement
- Employee Assistance Scheme
- Enhanced Maternity/Paternity provision
- Staff Development days/week (Jan, July, Aug)
- Free confidential counselling service
- Staff recognition awards
- Subsidised car parking
- On-site Day Nursery
- On-site hair and beauty salon offering staff discounts

Next Steps:
We understand that not everyone works to the same timetable, and offer a range of flexible working options, including flexible start and finish times, part-time, term-time only or hybrid options, where the role permits.

**Oldham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.**

Further details including a Person Specification are included within the attached Job Description.

The role will require you to embed and work to the college’s values; working with Integrity, having Ambition to help our learners succeed and being Inclusive to learners and colleagues alike.
