As part of Staffordshire County Council, the Service operates within Families First and is an integral part of the Early Help Specialist Safeguarding Delivery Service.

Assessment, planning and review were done to a very high standard”.

We are looking for a Education, Training and Employment Practitioner to work across Staffordshire, with a base at the North (Newcastle-Under-Lyme) Operations Hub. You will be required to work flexibly, with some evening duties on a planned basis.

As part of this role you'll:

- Work with the Case Manager, to identify the educational needs of children and young people which may be impacting on their offending behaviour by undertaking thorough and effective assessments
- Advise on educational issues and offer information, advice and guidance to colleagues regarding Education, Employment & Training
- Liaise with education providers (including schools and colleges), on behalf of Case Managers, to secure access to specialist services, to meet the identified needs of children and young people
- Contribute to the development of Restorative Justice and trauma-informed practices.
- Experience working with hard to reach young people in an education setting. In particular the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of working with or on behalf of young people and experience of face-to-face work with children, young people and families in relation to Education, Training & Employment
- Strong communication skills in a variety of contexts, i.e. one to one, group work, formal settings, presentations
- Effective ability to write and present high quality verbal and written report (in court and other formal settings)
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and some knowledge of recent developments in Youth Justice and other relevant legislation
- A relevant, recognised professional qualification in the field of education, training or employment at Level 3 or above
