A British success story in the machining field is in true growth mode. They supply precision engineered components to a wide range of sectors including aerospace, communications, automotive and general engineering. They are seeking an experienced Cost Estimatorideally with experience of precision machining and previous manufacturing experience.

Salary £ 25,000 - £ 30,000 p.a. + Pension + Annual Holiday

The Role

As a Cost Estimator you will:
Report to the Commercial Manager successfully estimating a wide range of components, assembly and tooling costs, completing internal and external quality assurance frameworks.

Support the project management, purchasing, commercial and sales teams you will determine cost estimates during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.

Gather proposals, specifications and related documents then liaising with project managers, design and purchasing you will convert specifications to cost estimates for new products.

Utilise cost methodologies, tools and appropriate software packages to prepare and maintain reliable accurate data for management reviews you will establish cost estimates on production processes and tooling whilst recommending improvements.

Assess cost effectiveness of quotations and track actual costs in relation to budget, reporting the status on a regular basis in line with project milestones.

The Person

A Cost Estimator with:
Experience in providing cost estimations in an aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or engineering environment.

Ideally some experience within precision engineering and familiarity with engineering drawings.

Able to produce quotations and RFQ documents.

Ability to demonstrate good working knowledge of estimating price models and cost management tools as well as IT systems such as Excel and Access

Good communication and relationship building skills you will be able to provide evidence of adding value and cost optimisation.
