***Key Responsibilities;**
*** **- Receive enquiries and requests for service for a geographical area of the borough. Carry out inspections and investigations as required in order to determine the appropriate response or action required.**
*** **- Consider options and provide appropriate outcome for each enquiry in accordance with current policies, strategies, business plan and customer journey**
*** **- Meet with customers on site to discuss highway maintenance or highway related matters. Conduct such meetings in a courteous manner and explain any technical issues clearly. Manage expectations but consider what action might be appropriate, balanced with policy and budget considerations**
*** **- Identify additional information / activities / systems needed to support service delivery / promote the service area. Ensure the design, development and implementation of solutions to deliver these.**
*** **- Produce solutions to resolve day-to-day maintenance problems on the highway network within the scope of policy, business plan and legal responsibility.**
*** **- Produce all necessary documentation to a high standard to order maintenance works, either in response to enquiries or complaints, or resulting from inspections or reports from colleagues.**
*** **- Help co-ordinate an effective response in the event of an incident/emergency on the highway network and provide support during adverse weather events**
*** **- Carry out walked inspections looking out for CAT1 defects such as; potholes, footways, any defects in relation to pedestrian dangers etc.**

*** **- Full UK clean driving license (required)**
*** **- Highway Safety Inspection Award or similar accreditation/NRSWA - accredited (Desirable)**
*** **- City & Guilds 6033 Scheme - Highway Safety Inspection Award of similar accreditation (Desirable)**
*** **- Able to proficiently use MS tools i.e. Excel, Word etc. (required)**
