Our client has enjoyed a period of sustained and successful growth over a number of years, specifically project design and delivery within the EV, residential and commercial sectors. They have a unique offering from principal design through to project management, cost consultancy and full turnkey support in fast paced environments. This offering has been key to the success of the firm and will be essential to ensure revenue and profitability continues to grow, especially within the EV charging sector.

We are looking for a commercially astute and client facing Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project lead, ideally with a background of delivering commercial, EV or residential projects. This means you may have fulfilled any number of roles previously - surveyor, cost engineer, project manager, project planner, estimator - before finding yourself in a client facing commercial role.

As a dynamic and fast paced multi-disciplinary consultancy, passionate and an innovative approach are two of the main traits that our client is looking to hire.

This role will range from typical Tier 1 and 2 Project Quantity Surveying duties; heavy integration with their in-house planning and project control services, process and procedure creation in-house and externally, to a key leadership role in the growth of their service offerings.

As the company’s chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to lead client engagements, with authority and confidence. As part of the daily commitment to the project or client, you should be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in every engagement, being able to communicate in a clear and concise manner, while building a strong narrative.

As a senior member of the team, you will be self-sufficient, approachable and a team player. Good principles are very important to have, however out-of-the-box and passionate thinking is also highly encouraged, as innovative methods of working are encouraged in the team.
- Manage all commercial / surveying aspects of all projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
- Conduct cost analysis, budget monitoring and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor variations and change orders, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines.
- Prepare and submit valuations, final accounts, and cost reconciliation reports.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to junior members of the quantity surveying team.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.

- A good, well-rounded knowledge of surveying, planning and commercial principles.
- A construction related degree or RICS qualification with 5+ years' experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor or Tier 2 specialist subcontractor or Consultant (Required - ideally a mix of either would be advantageous).
- A solid multi-tasker on multiple sites in various stages.
- Strong Excel skills and an interest in data.
- A solution-oriented mindset paired with attention to detail, being able to demonstrate implemented improvements in previous projects.
- A relentless and dynamic approach when dealing with people - able to influence them to take the best approach.
- A skilled professional with expertise across commercial management or quantity surveying within a similar industry to EV Installation, Commercial or Residential Sector.
- Subject matter expert in all things commercially related to the costing, delivery and programme management to deliver high quality solutions.
- Skilled Negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment.
- Good financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy.
- Adept in proactively finding solutions whilst constructively balancing the speed and quality of delivery.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and at varying levels.
- Self-motivated individual, tenacious and innovative, able to see the bigger picture and continuously improving operational delivery.
